August 27, 2020 Update

Welcome home, North Hills! We are so excited to announce that in addition to our online service, we are adding an in-person service beginning Sunday, September 13th at 9am.

It is our desire to offer an option to gather in person, to love our neighbors well, and to assure the safety of our congregation, so here is what you can expect when you attend:

RSVP - If you are interested in attending in person, please RSVP using the button above. This will help us assure that we remain at the appropriate capacity to maintain physical distancing.

Seating - Upon arriving at the church, please enter the lobby and wait for the next available usher to show you to your seat. Please stand 6 ft apart from others in the lobby. Families will be spaced 6 ft apart with 3 seats in between parties.

Masks - We ask that everyone wear a mask while attending service. If you do not have a mask, we have some available at the Welcome Center in the lobby.

Kids Ministry - At this time, kids ministry will remain closed. Please bring your children with you to the auditorium for service.

Sanitizer - There are hand sanitizing stations set up in the lobby and in the sanctuary near the giving boxes. Please sanitize often.

Cleaning - We will continue to clean and sanitize the building before and after each use using CDC approved cleaning solutions.

Communion - Pre-packaged communion cups will be distributed by a volunteer using gloves.

If you are feeling sick or have been exposed to someone who is sick, please attend service online.

We are excited to be able to offer an in-person option as well as continuing our online services on Facebook and our website (www.nhcog.com). We understand there are mixed feelings right now about gathering, so please know that while we miss you all, we fully understand and support those who want or need to continue attending services online. We look forward to connecting with you in-person and online September 13th.

God Bless,

Pastor Zach

June 23, 2020 Update

As some of you may have observed, over the past week the number of Covid-19 cases have climbed to the highest levels since the outbreak. At the same time AZDHS.gov is reporting that hospital beds are filled with the greatest number of patients since the outbreak.

It is with this information in hand, and with much prayer and consideration that I have decided that we will not be reopening our in-person worship services until the middle to late July.

Being physically separated has been very hard for me, and I am sure it is very hard for you too. What I want to encourage you to do during this time is to gather and make memories as house church, made up of family and friends. Gather together in groups of 10 or less to eat breakfast and watch the message. My family has enjoyed immensely the opportunity to eat pancakes while watching the message and then we stand up afterwards for worship. I have had so much fun watching Amanda's lessons with my kids as we dance and sing along to the videos on the North Hills Extreme kids Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Northkidsphx/ .

I encourage you to continue worshiping with us on facebook live, https://www.facebook.com/northhillschurch/ or catch the messages throughout the week on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsmostgb0r8mdukaQ3Id87w

Ashley is leading the charge on updating some hardware, software, and licensing so that we can livestream a service with worship and the message combined in real time. As a staff we will continue to strive to produce high quality and enriching communication for our church family.

May God Bless you,

Pastor Zach Schifferer

March 17, 2020 Update

Though the Bible says that we do not live in the spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7), it also says that we are to love our neighbors and to follow the law of the land. At this time, we continue to closely monitor the current situation surrounding COVID-19 and have determined to suspend all in-person meetings until local authorities and health professionals have deemed it safe to gather. During this time, North Hills Church is committed to regular communication with our congregation and continuous monitoring of the Arizona Department of Health and CDC regulations and recommendations, and will be following those guidelines as we prepare for reopening in the future. At this time, all in-person gatherings have been suspended until further notice. Please visit this page and look to our Facebook and Youtube pages for regular updates.

STAY CONNECTED WITH NORTH HILLS

CONNECT ONLINE.

Since all in-person activities have been suspended, our Sunday services have moved to an online format. We host a live premiere of the message on Sunday morning at 9am on Facebook. Student services are hosted on Zoom Wednesdays at 6:30pm and Children's services are hosted on Facebook on Sundays and Wednesday nights at 6:30pm. Click the buttons below to explore these online service options.

CONNECT WITH EACH OTHER.

At North Hills, we embrace "social distancing" in this way: we are "physically distanced", however we are "socially connected". Christ's church is not the building, but the people who make up the body. At this time, it is imperative that we remain socially connected via phone, email, texts, FaceTime calls, or any other means in order to continue to grow in our relationship with Christ and each other. Our mission at North Hills is to connect with God and connect with others, and we fully believe we can continue to do this even as we stay home. Our community is important to our faith walk, so continue calling each other and reaching out! We are still the church, with or without the in-person meetings.

FAQ's

HOW LONG WILL IN-PERSON ACTIVITIES BE SUSPENDED?

We are continuing to monitor the situation and rely upon information on the AZDH and CDC websites. At this time, we are planning to follow the guidelines of the CDC and our local authorities on the recommendations for gatherings. Right now, Arizona is in phase 1, and our 85022 community is in active widespread transmission, so we will continue to meet digitally. Please stay tuned for more updates about regathering.
